In celebration of what would have been James Brown‘s 90th birthday (May 3), Sevyn Streeter unleashed an impassioned cover of his timeless classic ‘It’s a Man’s World.’
Originally released in 1966, the iconic tune was a #1 hit on R&B charts for Brown at the time and it’s undoubted Sevyn is hoping her version puts up similar numbers.
Calling the Godfather of Soul one of her “biggest musical influences” in the Instagram post that announced the arrival of her rendition, Monday (May 8) saw her follow up with the release of its official accompanying music video.

Her first release of 2023, ‘Man’s World’ comes nearly 8 months after the unveiling of her last official single – ’23’ – which many were hoping was the first taste of new music set to line the long-awaited follow up to her 2021-released sophomore album, ‘Drunken Wordz Sober Thoughtz.’
As of time reported there is no tentative release date attached to the yet-titled project.
