Normani sent the net into a frenzy when she joined forces with Bose to tease her long-awaited new single ‘Candy Paint.’
Now, as part of the year-long pact with the technology giant, the stage blazer has opened up about her creative process when producing new music – specifically her debut solo album.

Speaking in a dance-led video, Normani said:
“When I’m in the studio my favourite part of creating is…starting from scratch.
I love making beats. But I’m (also) very visual. When I’m in the studio creating a record, it’s very important to be able to envision me on stage.
I’m a natural-born dancer. Instrumentation and the way the percussions allow my body to move have a lot to do with the record I end up making.
It can be frustrating at times, but it’s also exciting. Take it back to the fundamentals: what is important to you? What is it that I want to convey? Where’s the impact I want to leave on the world and what I want my music to do?”

She wanted to make sure everything was right. Never mentioned anything about label politics. Then she teases stuff that never comes to fruition. Any fan would rightfully be over it. She had so many people rooting for her 2018-2018 which ultimately set her up for failure. It appears that she and her team were counting on a huge moment that never quite happened. In my opinion her album should’ve came after Love Lies. They fumbled the bag.

She’ll maybe do 1 interview being vague and say “a lot has been going on behind the scenes”, not expound in any way and do another “Normani is coming with a cultural reset” in 2028.
If it’s truly about her parent’s health, why not “I’m taking a break from music indefinitely”?
She literally has had dates come and go. It’s like getting paid to perform at a club and not show up. She had people paying attention. And didn’t even acknowledge that “summer” passed and the album, EP, NOTHING dropped.
At this point, leak the album, get out of the deal and do something you’re passionate about, like teaching dancing.

She’d definitely be in the news for canceling shows due to “feeling overwhelmed” or “miscommunication with the venue promoters”.
