Lil Nas X‘s 2019 breakthrough hit, ‘Old Town Road,’ may have made history at the Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA) when it became the first song ever to gallop to 16x Platinum status (meaning it sold 16 million copies Stateside), but the commercial performance of his other big hits isn’t anything to shake a stick at.

The RIAA took to press Wednesday (June 7) to announce 2019’s ‘Panini,’ the second single from LNX’s major label-debut EP ‘7,’ had crossed its threshold for 7x Platinum certification. The measure denotes sales equivalence of 7 million in the U.S.
In doing so, the Take a Daytrip-produced song breaks a three-way tie between his other hits – ‘Industry Baby’ and ‘Montero (Call Me By Your Name)’ – to become his second highest-certified smash to date (following ‘Old Town Road’).
The certification upgrade brings the 24-year-old’s cumulative digital single sales to 35.5 million in the country, making him one of the era’s top-selling performers.
