L.A. Reid is opening up like never before when it came to his decision to drop Lady Gaga from Def Jam Records.
More details below…
L.A. Reid was the chairman of Def Jam Records in 2006 when Gaga was signed to the label that same year. However, it was not meant to be as she was dropped just 3 months later. A move that Reid would not regret until later on.
Sitting down with Billy Mann on an upcoming episode of the ‘Yeah, I F*cked That Up,’ Reid recalls watching Gaga becoming successful after he dropped her.
“It was tough dropping Lady Gaga and then watching her not just have a hit, but becoming a wildly successful, iconic figure that absolutely did change the course of music in her moment,’ quote via TMZ.
Lady Gaga would go on to release her Diamond-selling debut single ‘Just Dance’ in 2008 and the rest is history.
