‘A Brandy Christmas’: R&B Icon Readies Holiday Album & Netflix Christmas Movie

Published: Saturday 23rd Sep 2023 by Rashad

Brandy fans, affectionately called #STARZ, won’t have to wait until December 25 to unwrap new material from the R&B icon in the form of a holiday movie and album!

More about the yuletide double dose of the diva inside.

As previously reported, the GRAMMY winner (born Brandy Norwood) was cast as the lead in the star-studded Netflix holiday film ‘Best Christmas Ever.’

Starring Heather Graham, Jason Biggs, Abby Villasmil, Matt Cedeño, Wyatt Hunt, Madison Skye Validum, and more, the Mary Lambert-directed venture tells the story of a real-life Grinch named “Charlotte” (Graham) who seeks to ruin Christmas for an old college friend “Jackie” (Norwood) after becoming suspicious the picture-perfect life portrayed in the latter’s holiday newsletter isn’t as great as it seems.

The movie will be available for streaming November 16.

Excitment for the festive flick was only amplified once news dropped B-Rocka had her sights set on Billboard’s Holiday charts with her very first Christmas album.

Earlier this month, her manager, Ryan Ramsey, reposted an Instagram Story that shows an A&R executive sequencing a list of album tracks on a whiteboard while the diva’s stirring rendition of ‘The Christmas Song’ played on in the background.

While there’s no tentative release date attached to the project at writing, its 11-song tracklist – which features original songs as well as Brandy’s takes on classics like ‘Someday at Christmas,’ ‘Silent Night,’ ‘Santa Baby,’ and more – is available. See it below.

A Brandy Christmas Tracklist

1. Feels Different
2. Celebrate My Baby
3. Someday at Christmas
4. Santa Baby
5. Christmas Party For 2
6. Waiting (The Christmas)
7. Silent Night
8. Have Yourself a Merry Little Christmas
9. The Christmas Song
10. Christmas Gift
11. Your Name

The yuletide-flavored opus will undoubtedly tide hungry fans over until the 44-year-old shares the next round of updates about her next traditional studio effort, the follow-up to 2020’s ‘B7.’
