As if birthing a viral TikTok dance challenge wasn’t enough for ‘On My Mama,’ the breakthrough hit of Victoria Monet, the Deputy-produced cut has also helped its parent album – ‘Jaguar II‘ – pounce to the highest mark the singer-songwriter has ever reached on the Billboard 200.
Details inside.
Laden with jaw-dropping, Sean Bankhead-curated choreography as well as odes to the Crunk and Snap eras of music history (the mid-noughties), the music video for ‘On My Mama’ has easily ushered in Victoria Monet’s most talked about era yet.
The third single from ‘Jaguar II’ (following the critically acclaimed ‘Smoke‘ and ‘Party Girls‘), the reception of ‘Mama’ comes as a much-deserved triumph for the songstress who has penned hits for Ariana Grande, Fifth Harmony, BLACKPINK, and others.
Found at #98 on the refreshed Hot 100, the appearance comes as the first Monet song to crack the coveted count.

Your thoughts?
The real definition of FLOP!!!!! PERIOD!!!!
awwwww TGJ, Stop mocking her. hahahhahahah.
She’s is such a talent and I love her consistency. Her last album missing the top 200 completely, could’ve made her quit but she instead continues to rise. A gem and a great album!
God bless her talent love the music!
It was a good effort. She needs different producers to help broaden her sound a bit. Jaguar III will crack the top twenty
She has a pretty good range of sounds already. From ‘Experience’ to ‘moments.’ Regardless of where she lands on the charts, she’s still a talent.
Her albums sound like one long song. It would be great if she branched out a little more, not every song needs live instrumentation
All her songs don’t have live instrumentation and even if they did what’s the issue. Studio production is still a fairly new phenomenon starting in the 80s. Prior to that all music had live instrumentation.
Good job Vic! And why so worried about the numbers when her upcoming tour just sold out? Not bad for an indie artist with a only distributor record label.
