‘About Damn Time’ hitmaker Lizzo hasn’t spent much time making public appearances since multipe of her former employees filed lawsuits against her for sexual harassment and toxic working conditions, but the GRAMMY winner took to the 2023 Black Music Action Coalition gala Thursday night (September 21) to receive the BMAC Quincy Jones Humanitarian Award.
Hosted at the Beverly Hilton Hotel in Beverly Hills, the event saw the songstress surprised by the award presenters she recognized very well – the Big Grrrls and Big Boiiis (also her former employees) – who praised her for giving them the opportunity to break into the industry.
“Thank you so much for this. Because I needed this right now. God’s timing is on time,” Lizzo said during her acceptance. “I didn’t write a speech because I don’t know what to say in times like these.”
That’s not all she said. See the heartwarming moment inside.
@lizzoIm still crying💖 thank you.

Your thoughts?
I truly believe Lizzo is innocent.
What exactly is this award for
For fat people
She’s no humanitarian just a hippo🦛
so they giving award to an Elephant or wild life animals now?
I believe she’s innocent as well! I partied with her and her crew back in Hollywood and one thing I can say for certain is that she thinks these people are her friends and not her employees and sometimes you have to draw a line! Nice girl so it’s sad what they’re saying about her.
