Leaked weeks ago ahead of its formal release, the image went somewhat viral when speculation about its authenticity became the subject of significant debate on social media.
Today (September 19) has seen the veil officially lifted on the cover – confirming, in the process, that it is indeed Kim on the cover.
With much of the discourse being centered on the perceived use of ample post-production, one commenter on Ebony’s Instagram asked:
“Who photographed this?”
The professional in question, Keith Major, responded:
“Man, she wanted to be in control of the retouching so this is what we got.”
With that, what are…
She looks like an IMVU character lmaoooo that’s why Nicki is the queen
Damn 😂 that doesn’t help at all lmaoo
Ohh no Kim, your face doesn’t match your body here. SMH
Looking like a Persian AI lol. Lil Kim has serious self hate issues.
PLZ😭 this is ur self proclaimed HipHop queen? Y’all can’t even point her out in a line up
LOL she looks like a cartoon.
Fukcery!!!! At its finest
Not a good look Kimmy 😕
So brave of her to take the natural approach with this – no filter, no make-up, no editing….
🙁 I feel sorry for her
He really said “I’m not getting roasted for this ma’am you’re on your own” 🤣 it’s sad that she had no one in her corner brave enough to say this pic wasn’t it
I’ll bet she did and went with it anyway.
As a professional, the photographer doesn’t have to give up all rights to how their work is represented. There are plenty of people who could’ve and should’ve rejected this photo. It’s sad to see Kim so far removed from her natural beauty.
That statement was unprofessional of him…
