Megyn Kelly Leads Call for Alicia Keys To Be “Canceled” Over “Disgusting Post” During Israel-Hamas Conflict

Published: Saturday 4th Nov 2023 by Rashad

It’s been weeks since ‘Girl on Fire’ hitmaker Alicia Keys felt some serious heat following what many deemed an insensitive social media post during the current Israel-Hamas conflict, but some are still calling for the 15x GRAMMY winner to face stiff consequences for her actions.

Taking to Instagram in October, Keys turned off a number of her supporters for a post that some considered to be “tone deaf.”

“Tell me your truth…I’ve had my eyes on paragliding,” she told her 27 million followers on the platform – even including “side-eye” emojis.

The post set off a firestorm of controversy given that just days before Hamas “terrorists” used paragliders to attack an Israeli musical festival, killing nearly 300 attendees in the process.  Some even accused the singer of being sympathetic to Hamas because her attire in the attached picture featured prominent colors found in the flag of Palestine.

After quickly deleting the pic and caption, Alicia took to her IG stories to offer an apology.

“The post I shared was COMPLETELY unrelated in any way to the recent devastating loss of innocent lives. My heart has been breaking …. I pray for and stand for peace,” Keys said at the time.

Although the hoopla from the incident has cooled, for some – like political commentator and media personality Megyn Kelly – the apology wasn’t enough.

Taking to the popular Sirius XM series ‘The Megyn Kelly Show’ on Wednesday (November 1), she joined columnist Maureen Callahan in calling for the ‘Karma‘ singer to pay the price for her perceived Palestinian support.

“Who the hell wears Palestinian colors all over them and posts about wanting to paraglide within days of the Hamas terror attack using paragliders,” Kelly ranted before calling “bullsh-t” on Alicia’s apology.

Later pointing out that the R&B diva’s husband, producer-rapper Swizz Beatz, is Muslim and that the two share a son named Egypt, Megyn went down a list of coincidental associations that could support arguments that Keys is pro-Palestine.

“I still am shocked that she has not been canceled by major corporations. You know she is the voice of All State,” Callahan chimed in. “She should lose that sponsorship; she should lose that job.”

At writing, Keys nor Beatz have responded to Kelly’s criticism.
