November continues to pile on good news for Victoria Monet.
Shortly after learning content from her latest album, ‘Jaguar II’ (including the breakout hit ‘On My Mama‘), was nominated for 7 GRAMMYs at the 2024 ceremony, Monet was greeted with reports the Chalie Boy-sampling tune had pounced to #1 on a Billboard chart.

The updated Mainstream R&B/Hip-Hop Airplay chart shows ‘Mama’ made its way to #1 after 12 weeks.
A career-first for the 34-year-old, the ascent on the R&B radio tally marks the first time she has ever captured the top spot of any Billboard hitlist as a recording artist.
She’s no stranger to having credits on chart-ruling hits, however, as her pen game was listed on Hot 100 toppers ‘Thank U, Next’ and ‘7 Rings’ by Ariana Grande.
Taking to social media to celebrate the week of wins, Monet could barely contain her elation.
“The past few days have been a whirlwind of blessings! “On My Mama” just went #1 on urban radio!!! WOOHOOO thank you God, thank you to everyone at radio supporting this record and special thank you to my incredible team who has been working hard for months to bring this home,” she told her 1.4 million followers on Instagram. “I love You! Another dream come TRUE!!!”
On my Mama song is trash. Snooze is way better and will win the Grammys.
Water slays both of them flops
I think the video and choreo helped take it to another level.
nooooooooo it shud be mani!!!!!! 😩😩😩
When did Billboard start counting Radio Airplay as eligible for calling a song a #1 hit? That must be a post-streaming thing. Because back in the day when people actually bought music, the Radio Airplay chart did NOT count.
