Beyonce‘s surprise-released new single, ‘My House,’ has taken up residence in the Billboard Hot 100.
The same day Beyonce‘s highly anticipated ‘Renaissance Tour‘ film charged into theaters (December 1) she surprised her beloved fans (affectionately called the #Beyhive) with a new song titled ‘My House.’
Co-written and produced by The Dream, the high-octane tune was also featured in the movie’s credits and – much like its parent film – ‘House’ is enjoying nothing short of an impressive opening.
Here are the numbers that powered its #57 placement on this week’s Hot 100.
- Streams ≈ 9.7 million U.S.-based
- Radio Airplay ≈ 1.7 million audience impressions
- Pure Sales ≈ 5,000 digital downloads
When only pure sales are considered, the first-week sum attached to ‘House’ is the largest that accompanies any new song that premiered on the charts this week. Amid the fray of holiday hits dominating the current Hot 100, Bey’s latest is the only new tune to chart in the top 60 – making it the week’s biggest overall debut.
Her 83rd time appearing on the all-genre hitlist as a solo act, the entry extends her record as the most-charted female vocalist of color of all time.
Among all acts, only Taylor Swift (232) and Nicki Minaj (133) have scored more prints on the Hot 100.
