Let Rolling Stone tell it, girls ran the Rap world in 2023!
As her longest-charting Hot 100 entry to date, ‘SkeeYee‘ – found aboard Sexyy Red‘s breakout mixtape ‘Hood Hottest Princess‘ – not only topped her personal list of hits this year but also landed at #1 among critics at Rolling Stone.
The magazine, which turned heads earlier this year with their polarizing ‘Greatest Singers Ever‘ and ‘Top 200 Songs of the 80s‘ lists respectively, is getting similar treatment for their ‘Best 15 Rap Songs of 2023’ list which was unveiled Wednesday (December 20).
Expectedly featuring names like J.Cole, Drake, and Doja Cat, readers were stunned to see the top 3 picks go to female acts: Ice Spice‘s ‘Deli‘ (#3), Latto and Cardi B‘s ‘Put It On Da Floor Again‘ (#2), and Sexyy’s ‘SkeeYee’ (#1).
The penultimate, which served as the remix to Latto’s ‘Put It On Da Floor,’ peaked at #13 on the Billboard Hot 100 and stands as the second highest-charting hit of her career to date (as a song leader).
‘Best 15 Rap Songs of 2023’ (Top 5)

#4 – Veeze – ‘Not a Drill’
