Jung Kook drove ‘Standing Next To You,’ the third single from his debut solo album ‘Golden,’ to the top 5 of the Billboard Hot 100 the week of its premiere.
Now, thanks to a remix assisted by R&B icon Usher, the former BTS star could see the Andrew Watt-penned bop soar to even higher heights on the hitlist.
Barely 24 hours after its December 1 premiere, the revamped version of ‘Standing’ stood at #1 on the Worldwide iTunes charts thanks to topping the respective real-time sales charts of over 40 countries including United Arab Emirates, Singapore, Turkey, Spain, Argentina, Mexico, Jordan, Kenya, and Japan.
Stateside, the tune’s cracked the top 5 of the real-time sales chart (as of the time of this report) – a feat that will undoubtedly bode well for its overall first-week commercial performance once radio airplay and streaming are factored in.
Found at #73 on the latest print of the Hot 100, should the remix of ‘Standing’ help it soar back into the tally’s top 10 next week it will mark Usher’s first since appearance in the chart region since ‘Scream’ peaked at #9 in 2012.
His current hit, ‘Good Good‘ (featuring Summer Walker and 21 Savage), currently holds a personal milestone as its peak of #25 marks the highest rung the GRAMMY winner’s reached in nearly 10 years.
