How you gonna act like that took on a new meaning recently for singer-actor Tyrese after he caught wind of Lil Nas X previewing a new song claiming he was getting ready to enter a “Christian era.”

LNX (born Montero Hill), who made headlines in 2021 for endorsing “Satan shoes” as well as for dancing with the devil in the controversial ‘Call Me By Your Name‘ music video, stunned fans with a tune lined with lyrics about God (as seen in the clip above).
The polarized responses from Twitter users led Hill to quickly shut down the implication the move was inauthentic.
“Making Christian music does not mean i can’t suck d-ck no more. the two are not mutually exclusive. i am allowed to get on my knees for multiple reasons,” he said at the time. “Y’all see everything i do as a gimmick. when in reality im just an artist expressing myself in different ways. whether im a cowboy, gay, satanic, or now christian y’all find a problem! y’all don’t police nobody else art like mine. y’all hate me because im fun cute and petite.”
Among those who weren’t exactly thrilled with his response was Tyrese, who made clear he didn’t appreciate the “mockery” of Christianity.
“Y’all gone learn to stop playing with God … God is not to be played with … From shoes with devil signs and devils blood in the [shoe] sole?” the 6x GRAMMY nominee wrote on Instagram. “We can all change I get it but I feel a way about people making a mockery about Jesus. Do you, life your life .. Do what makes you happy but yall better stop playing with Jesus out here.”
After being shunned by a slew of Christian rappers, organizations, and leaders as well, Montero took to Twitter took to Twitter to clap back at all the critics.
“This really crazy cuz all i did was post a song about asking God for hope when you feel hopeless and yall acting like I posted a video of me burning a church down and peeing on a nativity scene,” he relayed.
As the criticisms continue to pour in, LNX kept hitting back at the detractors.
At writing, the GRAMMY winner has not revealed when or if the “Christian” song will be released.
LORD I’m so tired of this dirty bottom 😢
Anything for attention🙄 The GP has moved on from his trolling and attempts at being controversial. He doesn’t have real talent outside of that. Bye
Liknasx is a HETEROSEXUAL woman. 💯
You are a genderless blob of chicken grease living next to a nuclear power plant.
He’s so predictable. The lack of talent supersedes the shock value. We’re bored sir 😴
the real Paulo supports LNX and his talent, bye!
He is so embarrassing
Desperate. This is just the reaction he wants. I wouldn’t even entertain his foolishness.
idk who the f*** Holy Gabbanna is but she needs to choke on a d***! LNX was indeed pushing the envelope and got a response, but a lot of the points he’s making make sense.
It’s crazy that people think it’s their place to determine whether someone is being genuine or not about their relationship with God. Like, none of these folks comments make any sense. Didn’t know gay people couldn’t be Christian also. I’ll be glad when all these sinless, perfect people mind their sinless, perfect business and let others be on their journey. Everybody has a struggle with sin that is lifelong, not just gay ppl. Everybody think they got the right to judge and punish others and it’s absurd to me.
