The Hot Girl Coach bills the blazing track as a bite back at those who’ve had her name in their mouths. A sentiment she made clear in the song’s opening lines.
Speculation immediately erupted around whether ‘Hiss’ was aimed at Nicki Minaj – given that there is no love lost between the ladies.
And, as reported, Onika went on a “like” spree of less than favorable remarks about Meg in the immediate aftermath of the track’s debut.

Explaining the concept of the cut to hosts Charlamagne Tha God and DJ Envy, the rapper said:
“Basically, when a snake feels like you been playing and been on a whole bunch of [slander], it’s basically saying ‘back off, get up off me now.'”
Continuing, she added:
“It’s for these b*tches and n**gas. Every time they mention Megan Thee Stallion’s name, they get 24 hours of attention. Basically, I understand what y’all doing and I want y’all to get up off me. Do something different. Use another tactic, this one is getting old.”
When asked if she was saying specific names, Meg said:
“A hit dog gonna holler, that’s it. Whoever feel it, feel it.”
