Pop princess Britney Spears has made no secret of her admiration of the music royals who helped pave the way for her.
Among those is one of her idols, Janet Jackson, who not only has expressed a mutual respect for the ‘Baby One More Time’ hitmaker over the years but also shared a common enemy in Justin Timberlake experience of unjust sexism and double standards in the music industry in the early 2000s due to their proximity to a certain male entertainer.
Both boasting victories over the last 10 years, Spears took to social media over the weekend to toast Jackson’s triumphs, perseverance, and influence.
Taking to Instagram, Spears lent a heartfelt message to Janet.
“Thank you to this beautiful lady for keeping my dreams and heart alive,” she shared with her 42.5 million followers on the platform alongside a photo of Jackson’s iconic 1993 ‘Rolling Stone‘ cover. “She’s always been the deepest and brightest woman at the same time. She went through so much but I feel she is someone I will look up to for the rest of my life.”
The touching homage is just the latest in a string of posts Britney’s lifted in honor of the ‘Control‘ diva over the years including dance tributes to Jackson’s hits ‘All Nite Don’t Stop’ and ‘That’s the Way Love Goes.’
Re-live the sweet moments below.

I had the chance to say something very similar to Janet in person. She really is super kind if you ever get to meet her.
And that 2nd dance video, though several years old, proves that Britney can still tap into her dance talent with the right coach/choreographer. I don’t think she even danced that hard in Vegas. He needs to convince her to work with him on a 25th anniversary show for one of her first two albums.
Both are flops and has been. Normani is coming folks!
Norman will never come close to anything these two have accomplished. You’re delusional.
Oh another white thinkin we need they approval. Uh uh miss thang.
