Beyonce may be currently holding on to the top of multiple charts with her Country single ‘Texas Hold ‘Em,‘ but it’s not her only new tune making major plays at Billboard.
Riding alongside ‘Texas’ is ‘16 Carriages‘ – its slower tempo, Ink-produced sister Country cut.
And while it hasn’t exactly zoomed to the top of radio, streaming, or sales charts like its Killah B-produced counterpart, its success narrative is nothing to shake a stick at.
Just as the #2 opening of ‘Texas’ on the refreshed Hot 100 comes as quite the milestone for Bey (as we reported here), so does the #38 arrival of ‘Carriages’ as it has pushed her solo career total of top 40 hits to 51.
Making her only the third Black female in history to accomplish the feat, she joins Nicki Minaj (75) and Rihanna (52) in the male-dominated Billboard club of acts with at least 50 top 40 hits.
Among all females, only Taylor Swift (138) has more than Minaj.
Bey’s pair of shiny new top 40 hits aren’t the only songs making headlines, however. Click here to see who else had a great week on the charts.
