Taylor Swift has broken yet another record thanks to ‘The Tortured Poets Department.’

Taking to press, Billboard announced that the album has gone on to break the single-week vinyl sales record.
According to the outlet, the album has sold over 700,000 vinyl sales. In doing so, she broke her own record for the biggest single-week vinyl sales in the modern era and surpassed her own record of 693,000 for her ‘1989 (Taylor’s Version)’ album from last year.
‘The Tortured Poets Department’ consists of 31 songs and is a double album. Since its release, the project has gone on to be a sales behemoth and is expected to sell more than 2 million copies during its first week.

Terrible album. Her tactic is to sell sell sell and ofc it will, she has a HUGE following. But what is that worth to mediocre music and cringeworthy lyrics. This is by far her WORST album to date. I’ve heart fortnight 3 times and I still DONT REMEMBER anything at all about the song. Trailer’s music is SO UNIMAGINATIVELY BORING that I can listen to a song 5 times on repeat 1 day and then listen again 1 month later as if it’s the very FIRST listen because nothing sticks.

All jokes aside. Can someone explain to me why The Tortured Poets Departments reviews and scorings are so bad? Like they’re actually terrible 😢 I just want to get an idea of why that may be. Anyone care to explain? Why don’t any of the music critics like the album? Is it better than Cowboy Carter? But CC has a strong 92%. Please help.
You have to +/- 20% from critic scores these days. But I suspect the reviews are because the album hasn’t lived up to the hype, and the expanded edition didn’t really add anything to the album other than length.
Thank you. That’s exactly what i was thinking, I appreciate an honest and leveled response. Swifties are in attack mode because they hate to admit the album simply JUST ISN’T GOOD and that Taylor uses these stream and sales tactics to stay on top, but now they are afraid that the industry sees her for the mediocrity that she is. I’ve never seen such a negative response to an album like this in my life. Top music critics are calling it boring, and despicable.
In Taylor’s defense, it DOES NOT need to be good because MEDIOCRITY got her the ENORMOUS fanbase (that many artist can only dream of) in the first place. I can’t name 10 good Taylor songs that aren’t just MID. It’s all just MARKETING at the end of the day. Taylor fills a void that White ppl naturally gravitate toward, the clean white image/music for all ages always sales.

A narcissist who’s way in over her head, but was quickly reminded of how mediocre she and her music is 😂 these are some of the absolute WORST reviews I’ve ever read in my entire life about an album. She might have gotten the first day streams and sales, but I’m 1,000% sure she’s not getting AOTY with this crap. Tortured Ear Dums is the prime of example of “being out of touch” and “delusional” to what it takes to make a quality body of work. She’s simple money hungry and loves to play her fans like a fiddle. The hilarious part is that they will always fall for it. I’m a huge fan of 1989, Reputation, and RED, but sheesh this album is such a TOUGH pill to swallow and I love watching in go down in flames 🔥
