At the New York City premiere of her highly anticipated documentary, ‘I Am: Celine Dion,’ on Monday night (June 17), Pop icon Celine Dion tearfully told audience members she will be seeing them “very soon.”
And while on the surface the statement seemed to just be a reiteration of her previous promises to work her way back to performing after being diagnosed with the debilitating and rare neurological condition Stiff Person Syndrome, she may given a clue that she will be dazzling concertgoers sooner than they think.
When not turning heads on the red carpet of the NYC screening of ‘I Am,’ the 56-year-old took time to dish with the press about everything from the filmmaking process to her current health status and more.
While chatting with ExtraTV’s Tommy DiDario, Celine reacted to rumors a return to the Las Vegas Strip is in the cards.
“You heard right,” the Pop icon said in response to DiDario’s mention of her going back to Sin City in the near future. “If you’re in the front row, I’ll be right in front of you.”
Walking away as she made the comment, Dion didn’t clarify if her Vegas comeback will be an official residency, a one-night only event, or making a guest appearance in some other format (i.e. awards show, another artist’s concert, etc.).
What is sure is the confidence with which Celine made the statement was enough to get her fans amped with excitement as she’s not performed on-stage since her last international trek – the ‘Courage Tour‘ – was canceled at the top of 2022.
At the time the global jaunt was supposed to be followed by a Las Vegas residency.
She’s rumoured to perform at the Olympic Games opening ceremony in Paris in about a month… Maybe an announcement will follow.
