Reassuring fans she hopes to see them “very, very soon,” Dion wiped tears at the New York premiere of her Prime Video documentary while recalling seeing tweets of support.
“So, a couple of days ago, I saw a message from a fan,” Celine shared with the audience. “And it said, ‘We’re not here for the apples, we’re here for the tree…I cannot believe how fortunate I am to have my fans in my life. Thank you to all of you from the bottom of my heart for being part of my journey.”
The rare public appearance marks Celine’s first red carpet since announcing her battle with the rare neurological disorder Stiff-Person Syndrome (SPS).
Her Prime Video documentary chronicles the impact the condition has had on her personal and professional life as well as her desire to return to performing.
