Fantasia isn’t the only GRAMMY winner with her sights set on occupying Katy Perry‘s now-vacant seat on the ‘American Idol’ judges panel.

Meghan Trainor – whose resume boasts previous judging experience aboard FOX’s short-lived reality talent competition ‘The Four‘ – has made no bones about the fact she is very interested in the gig to replace the ‘Firework‘ hitmaker.

Details inside.

Trainor, hot on the promo trail in support of her June 7-due new album ‘Timeless,’ dropped by ET’s Spilling the E-Tea segment to dish on the project, its accompanying North American tour, and more.

When quizzed about her thoughts on joining Luke Bryan and Lionel Richie on the ‘Idol’ judges panel, Meghan answered ecstatically.

“There’s nothing I want more in life than to be a judge on ‘American Idol,'” she replied. “That is my ultimate bucket list dream come true. Please, please consider me [laughs] on your show. Please ‘American Idol’! Please! I’m ready. Alright, yeah, I would love to.”

While she awaits news about the network’s decision, she’s pushing forward with promotion of ‘Timeless’ by taking her dedicated fans (affectionately called #MegaTronz) behind the scenes of the music video for her latest single ‘To the Moon.’

The May 3-released song got its live TV performance premiere on ‘Idol’ the same weekend its Philip Lopez-directed visual landed on the Web.
