Normani FINALLY Addresses the ‘Dopamine’ Rollout: “So Much Affected the Outcome”

Published: Thursday 27th Jun 2024 by Sam

Normani is speaking up and out about the unorthodox rollout of her debut album ‘Dopamine.’

Six years in the making the project has been equally defined by the buzz that surrounded it as much as the delays that plagued it.

Now finally in the marketplace, the frontward-facing push for the album has been noticeably…different.

As of writing, no music videos have been released nor have any performances taken place.

Addressing the speculation during an appearance on the Terrell Show, Normani skewed all sorts of candid in unpacking the matter.

Full story below…

Speaking frankly, the 28-year-old said:

“I feel like there’s been so much prior to even the rollout that has kind of affected the outcome and, like, the result of. I think we were doing the best that we could with the cards that we were dealt […] In terms of the business, on my behalf, things could’ve been handled more responsibly. My team switched, which was for the better by the grace of God. In real-time, it didn’t feel really good, especially with trying to put this album out and that feeling like yet another roadblock. So there’s been plenty of times where I really didn’t see the light at the end of the tunnel. And I wasn’t sure how [‘DOPAMINE’] was gonna come out.”

A longer version of GRIP followed by BIG BOY would of been the perfect singles to Relauch the Era & make the GP take Normani seriously. Releasing the mediocrity that was 1:59 was basically ALBUM SU!ICIDE 😆 🤣 😂

      #91 is an Embarrassment.

Especially Gunna… I would love him to sallow some Cyanide so he will never sing or rap again 💀

So true! Don’t get me started… other artists like Chole is hardworking and always doing some cover online. Flop mani is lazy and crying for empathy. Gurl bye!

😂😂😂😂 You might be overdue for a hearing exam. Chloe SLAYED her debut album, Period. Normani is used to the success of Fifth Harmony and now it’s clear to her that she might be better off independent because the album actually deserved a better roll out with 4 or 5 singles and videos, 😒

Her she fo again, miss celie

    Always a victim.

Normani has been I the industry since 2012, why is she acting like spring chicken? Why is she pretending like she doesn’t know the drill?

Album debuted at number 91. Rca gonna drop u

Chloe & Normani both fumbled the ball the same way. By Re-lauching their albums with SO SO singles (pray it away & 1:59) off the backs of strong debut “Hits” Wild Side/Have Mercy. If they chose the right songs (Lights On/Feel me Cry) with a strong video then maybe they would have done decent respectable numbers.

Why is there always a f****** sob story about Normani!!! Yall hyped her up just to let her flop. She didn’t deliver 6 years later. End of story.

  11. Flopamime June 27, 2024

Lazy ho… If the label didn’t investing her, she could’ve done some home videos like Chole singing some songs. She should’ve performed the new songs in her album listening party. She keeps missing the opportunities. Music career ain’t for her.

I love Normani. But I also can’t lie: DOPAMINE was not worth the wait. The album was hyped for years and what was actually released doesn’t live up to the hype at ALL.

I’m still rooting for her, though. And I hope she eventually finds success, however she defines that.

We all knew the whole album roll out is a real hot mess. Guess they used all of their budgets all these years. Should’ve released the album after wild side. They never learned… same as Chloe’s have mercy and Cardi’s WAP/ UP. Why wait???
