Sexyy Red Owns the Week’s Highest-Charting New Hot 100 AND Billboard 200 Female-Led Hits with ‘Everything’ & the ‘Trust’ EP

Published: Saturday 8th Jun 2024 by Rashad

Jermaine Dupri may not have been all that impressed with the opening figures attached to Sexyy Red’s latest EP, ‘In Sexyy We Trust,’ but Billboard revealed the project’s accompanying numbers were some of the biggest of the week.

Details inside.

Sexyy Red’s ‘In Sexyy We Trust’

First-Week Sales (SPS):  28,000 units

Billboard 200 Debut:  #17

Peruse of the updated Billboard 200 sees Sexyy’s ‘Trust’ printed at #17 – a positioning that comes as the week’s highest overall female-led debut.  The opening not only marks her best placement on the tally to date but also her first time being listed inside the chart’s top 20.

Supported by the success of her first solo Hot 100 top 20 hit, ‘Get It Sexyy,’ ‘Trust’ also boasts the Rap diva’s highest first-week sales overall.

Before the May 24 (somewhat) surprise-released set, the 26-year-old’s career-best was the #62 peak of her 2023 breakthrough EPHood Hottest Princess.’

As if the win attached to ‘In Sexyy We Trust’ was not enough to celebrate, the project’s headline-grabbing, Drake-assisted tune ‘U My Everything‘ debuted at #44 on the Billboard Hot 100.

Here are the numbers that powered the placement.

  • Sales ≈ 2,000 digital downloads
  • Streaming ≈ 10.4 million U.S.-based streams
  • Radio airplaynegligible

Marking the second-highest Hot 100 first-week opening of her career (as a song leader) following the #23 arrival of ‘Get It Sexyy’ in March, the #44 premiere of ‘Everything’ also comes as the highest-charting new female-led hit of the week.

It’s by design to degrade and push the black community farther back. Y’all stay promoting it too which is the ironic part.
