Janet Jackson may make rocking stages across the globe on the latest leg of her critically acclaimed ‘Together Again Tour‘ look easy, but – as recently revealed in an interview – the outing is one of the hardest live ventures she’s undertaken over her four-decade-long music career.

The ‘Together Again Tour’ marks the Pop Queen’s highest-grossing jaunt to date, and is still raking in the big bucks at box offices around the world thanks to a recent extension.
Ahead of storming Europe with the hits-filled show, Jackson chatted it up with Heart’s Dev Griffin to discuss the challenges of carrying on such high-octane performances night-after-night.
“It’s the hardest show that I’ve done in a very long time,” the 58-year-old relayed. “But, it’s a fun show though.”
Part of the difficulty comes from the wear-and-tear of travel.
“You live out of a suitcase being on tour, so it’s not an easy life. You have to really love it and you make it fun,” she said. “I have a team of people that help me as well.”
Elsewhere in the lighthearted chat, Jackson discussed her influence over today’s crop of top Pop divas as well as the legends who inspired her when she first started.
“I remember seeing Earth, Wind & Fire as a kid…just unforgettable. Really blew me away [with their] musicianship and body of work,” she said before praising Prince‘s performance style.
