On the latest Spotify update, her song ‘The Emancipation of Mimi’ album has now surpassed 1 billion streams on the platform.
In doing so, the album becomes her third to surpass the 1 billion streams mark on the platform. Her other albums to reach the milestone are ‘Daydream’ and ‘Merry Christmas.’ In a technicality, ‘Merry Christmas II You’ also has 1 billion streams thanks to a version of ‘All I Want For Christmas Is You’ being on there.
‘The Emancipation of Mimi’ was a huge commercial success for Carey as it spawned the Song of the Decade with ‘We Belong Together.’
