Katy Perry clawed her way into music history earlier this month when she became only the fourth woman to have at least one Diamond song and album, following the likes of her former nemesis Taylor Swift as well as Whitney Houston and Mariah Carey.
And while the certification upgrades at the Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA) also saw her penciled in the organization’s record books for having the highest-certified female-led hit ever, the ‘E.T.‘ hitmaker also quietly celebrated another out-of-this-world achievement at the time.

As such, she now ties her former gal pal Rihanna for most Diamond-certified hits among women. Among all artists, only Post Malone (8) and The Weeknd (7) have more songs certified higher (as of time reported).
Perry’s certification upgrades listed above help hoist her career-wide single sales to 121.5 million in the U.S. – making her one of the best-selling artists of all time.
Among ladies, only Rih (183 million) and Swift (137.5 million) have sold more singles over their careers.
