Billboard: With ‘Sensational,’ Chris Brown Breaks Three-Way Tie with Usher & Bruno Mars For Most #1 Hits This Decade on R&B Radio Chart

Published: Wednesday 21st Aug 2024 by Rashad

Not even 7 months after making Billboard history with his song ‘Sensational,’ R&B bad boy Chris Brown has been greeted with even more sensational news about the ‘11:11‘ hit.

30 weeks after making its debut on Billboard’s Adult R&B Airplay chart, ‘Sensational’ slid to #1.

Coming as the fifth chart-topper of his career on this hitlist, Brown – previously in a three-way tie with fellow crooners Usher and Bruno Mars for second place among artists with the most #1s on the chart this decade (four each) – now sits beside Tank in first place.

On the all-time list, Alicia Keys reigns with the most #1 hits overall (14).

In what comes as even more sensational news, the Davido and Lojay-assisted track joins a handful of Brown’s smashes to have charted for 30 weeks or higher on this hitlist.

As of time reported, only the H.E.R.-assisted ‘Come Through‘ (31 weeks), the Young Thug-assisted ‘Go Crazy‘ (45 weeks), and the Drake-assisted ‘No Guidance‘ (59 weeks) have lasted longer.

This news should not be confused with last month’s history-making report that Breezy had become the first artist to collect over 50 top 10 hits on the R&B Songs chart.

Chris brown is the true king of R&B I’m so glad he’s still breaking records. His talent and hard work will continue to outshine any & all negativity! Give that man the Vanguard award let him do the Superbowl. He’s getting his 10’s regardless anyway.

      R&B = Ratchet & Blues. I agree.

You thought that was an insult and reality is that you’re still a hater. Enjoy the view from outside the club.

No #1 where it matters since 2007 😬

      That part.

Too Bad Bruno is beneath him in talent

He’s still breaking records in 2024.

None of these songs will be remembered in another 5 to 10 years. Kiss kiss and Run it are his only number ones. His catalog is very trendy and dates fast.

If #1s were all that mattered, very few artists and groups would’ve survived the last 30 years. We would have Mariah, Taylor, Drake, and that’s about it. If you look at the age range of the fans still filling arenas in Chris’ 20-year career, you would know he’s more than a trend.

Lies. My favorite song of the last 25 years is a Chris Brown song. S** You Back to Sleep and the remixes are insane! He and Usher on that remix set it on fire and never let up. That song maybe about 7 years old but it’s so good it beats most of the songs some years before it. Really most of my repeats are his songs from 15 years ago until now.

Chris Brown is super young but he spans generations. I grew up

Meanwhile Usher has the most HOT 100 NUMBER ONE HITS of a male R&B artist this CENTURY. With no features. But go off Chrissy LOL

    • Bedifferent August 24, 2024

No features? Don’t make me laugh. CB gave him his hits. He hasn’t been topping it by himself since 2017 and that mediocre album made no noise.

      • Sensational Residuals September 26, 2024

His #1 hit Sensational that’s been reigning for multiple weeks? The top 10 Residuals? The sell out tour from that album all across the country? The social media firestorm set off by the tour? Don’t know what is going on in some of your lives to hate on someone you don’t know. That is highly successful. But Chris Brown reigns when it comes to hits. Videos. Choreography. Tours. Hard work. Star power. Heck the man is a beast!

There is room for both singers to be celebrated. Why are some of you pushing them against each other? Like 1 without putting the other one down. I like both but to me CB far outweighs most these days.
