NSYNC‘s ‘Bye Bye Bye‘ waves hello to the Billboard Hot 100 after a 24-year absence thanks to the blockbuster film ‘Deadpool & Wolverine.’

Peruse of the updated Billboard Hot 100 sees ‘Bye’ – the first single from the Pop boyband’s Diamond-selling sophomore album ‘No Strings Attached‘ (2000) – attached to the #45 spot.

While the song peaked at #4 at the height of its popularity nearly 25 years ago, here are the numbers that powered its latest placement.

  • Streaming ≈ 10.2 million U.S.-based streams
  • Radio Airplay ≈ 4.5 million audience impressions
  • Sales ≈ 2,000 digital downloads

The sudden reignited popularity is due to a feature in ‘Deadpool & Wolverine‘ – the latest installment of Marvel’s ‘Deadpool’ film franchise – that was released on July 26 and has already slashed box office records to the tune of over $1 billion globally,

According to Luminate, ‘Bye’ scored a whopping 35.8 million streams and 5,000 downloads globally in the week that followed the movie’s premiere – figures that mark an 879% increase in worldwide streams and over 1,000% uptick in sales compared to the preceding week.

Stateside, the activity reportedly equates to a 494% bump compared to the previous sales tracking period.

As rumors of a reunion tour loom, the news undoubtedly comes as yet another nod for the public’s interest in NSYNC music.
