The ‘Sweet Lady’ singer has been detained after a sour fallout with his ex-wife Samantha Lee who asserts that the star has not paid child support for their 5-year-old daughter Soraya.
Tyrese was on hand to answer to Judge Kevin Farmer at a Fulton County court today (September 9), specifically relating to his resistance to paying the $10,000 a month he was ordered to begin paying in April 2023.
As a result, the judge held him in immediate contempt of court and he was handcuffed and taken away.
Judge Farmer informed the performer that he could avoid jail if he pays $73,000 – which includes $7,500 for Lee’s attorney fees.
The detainment comes after Tyrese took to social media to maintain his innocence, predict his arrest, and blast what he deemed to be Lee’s ulterior motives.
According to TMZ, he is making arrangements to make the $73k payment.
