Christina Aguilera Crowns Sabrina Carpenter “One of Today’s Leading Pop Artists” & Talks “Adoration” of ‘Espresso’ Singer in ‘TIME100 Next’

Short N Sweet‘ hitmaker Sabrina Carpenter has seen her rise to the top of charts be anything but short or sweet, yet – nearly 10 years after the 2015 arrival of her debut album ‘Eyes Wide Open’ – the 25-year-old is seemingly on top of the world with even more domination in her sights.

The latest toast to her breakthrough success came courtesy the 2024 ‘TIME100 Next’ list – a tally that honors rising stars in various industries.

And if getting her flowers from one of the world’s leading magazines wasn’t enough to warm the ‘Espresso‘ singer’s heart, the nod she received from idol Christina Aguilera certainly should’ve done the trick.

Fresh from reimagining the 1999 chart-topping hit ‘What a Girl Wants’ with Sabrina for the 25th anniversary edition of her self-titled debut album, Aguilera offered her co-star a touching salute in the ‘TIME’ magazine feature.

“She may claim to be short and sweet, but never underestimate the mighty power behind Sabrina Carpenter’s talent. It’s the reason she has catapulted to her earned spot as one of today’s leading pop artists,” Xtina shared. “She proves great things come in small packages. As a fellow 5-ft. female with a similar working-adolescent Disney history, I firsthand recognize and respect what it takes to maintain clarity while delivering within the demands of this business.”

Elsewhere in the article the GRAMMY-winning powerhouse praised Carpenter’s “confidence,” “songwriting,” and “storytelling prowess.”

“As exciting generations of pop princesses continue to emerge, I feel adoration and protectiveness, knowing the journey at hand and ahead,” she said about the 25-year-old songstress.

When not playing covergirl for one of the mag’s ‘Next’ covers, Sabrina dazzled in Dolce & Gabbana for the feature’s accompanying photo shoot under direction from famed photographer Charlotte Rutherford.
