Nicole Scherzinger has opened up about the tragic death of Liam Payne.

The Pussycat Dolls star notably was instrumental in piecing together One Direction during her tenure as a judge on The X Factor UK. 

As history would have it, the band would go on to have astronomical global success and conquer the charts on a colossal scale.

In a full-circle occurrence, Scheringer and Payne’s paths would cross again as recently as this year when they were tapped as judges alongside Kelly Rowland in Netflix‘s new talent search, ‘Building the Band.’

Now, she has broken her silence in the wake of his October 16 death in Argentina, where he fell from his hotel’s third-floor balcony.

Scherzinger’s emotional tribute below…

Sharing a picture of herself with Payne and Rowland, the Sunset Boulevard star wrote:

“Dear Liam,

I will forever cherish and treasure the time we shared together, from fifteen years ago when One Direction was born, right up until just a few weeks ago.

It was such a blessing to get to work with you recently. We shared the same love and passion for music and I will forever remember the meaningful and joyful conversations we had.

It’s been so hard to process that you’re no longer here, but I am grateful to have known your kind heart, sweet soul and character.

You brought so much joy, light, and laughter to the lives of those that truly knew you. I will “miss you” my friend and carry you in my heart. My thoughts and prayers are with your family. 🙏🏽♥️”
