In sad news, Prince‘s sister Tyka Nelson has tragically died.

The Star Tribune reports that her son President Nelson confirmed her passing but did not provide further details regarding the circumstances.
Tyka, who was a singer with four albums to her name, was 64.
Following Prince’s death at age 57 in 2016, Tyka stepped up as a spokesperson for the family and advocated for her brother.
She was notably on hand at the BET Awards that year to watch tributes and accepted posthumous awards for her sibling, including the AMA‘s Favorite Soundtrack honor for ‘Purple Rain.’
Tyka is mourned by her husband Maurice Phillips and their six children.
