6 years separated diehard fans of Sade after she dropped ‘Flower of the Universe‘ and ‘The Big Unknown‘ in 2018, but the R&B icon – two years after she was confirmed to be recording what is believed to be the follow-up to 2010’s ‘Soldier of Love’ album – gave music lovers a new fix when she dropped the new song ‘Young Lion‘ last month.
The proud mom of transgender artist Izaak Theo Adu, ‘Lion’ was delivered as Sade’s contribution to ‘Transa‘ – a new compilation album by the AID/HIV relief charity organization Red Hot in support of trans and non-binary awareness.
“Young man / It’s been so heavy for you / You must have felt so alone / The anguish and pain / I should’ve known / With such a heavy burden / You had to carry all on your own / Forgive me, son,” she sings on the heart-tugging tune.
Nearly a month after sending fans into a frenzy after ‘Lion’ roared into digital music shelves, the 65-year-old repeated the feat when she unexpectedly dropped the cut’s official music video on Friday (November 22).
