2024 was a damn good year for Dua Lipa!
Beyond topping charts around the globe with her highly anticipated third studio album, ‘Radical Optimism,’ the Pop diva kicked off the LP’s supportive international tour, stormed box offices with her first film ‘Argylle,’ headlined Glastonbury and ACL Fest, unveiled her first primetime TV special, and so much more.
All those moments helped make 2024 the “best year of my life,” she recently revealed to Billboard UK while acting as the cover girl of the mag’s latest edition.
And while the last 12 months have been filled with their fair share of highs, an undoubted downer came courtesy of the omission of ‘Optimism’ from the 2025 GRAMMY nominations’ list.
Look inside to see how she addressed the snub for the first time publicly.
Dua and her fans were hopeful she’d be competing for her fourth GRAMMY at the award show’s 2025 ceremony, but that hope was quelled when ‘Optimism’ didn’t land mention in any category.
It’s the first era of her career to lack a GRAMMY nod.
Taking to ‘Billboard UK,’ the 29-year-old shared her reaction to the news.
“I’m so proud of ‘Radical Optimism and where it’s brought me. I love that album and I’m having the time of my life performing it live…,” she relayed. “Although it would have been nice to be recognized by your industry, especially as a woman, I’m so proud seeing so many incredible female artists nominated at the Grammys this year.”
“Overall I’m really happy with where I am,” Lipa said. “I don’t think it really matters in the grand scheme of things where I am, where I want to be and where I’m going. It doesn’t change the way I feel about the record at all.”
