Katy Perry‘s devoted fans (affectionately called #KatyCats) may have been thrilled to unwrap a Christmas surprise in the form of a deluxe edition of her latest album, ‘143,’ but there’s at least one critic nabbing headlines for being none-too-impressed with its content: ‘American Idol’ alum Steven James.

Perry may have spun in the judge’s chair for seven years on ‘Idol’ to dish out feedback to talented hopefuls, but this time she’s getting the harsh feedback.
Taking to Tik Tok over the weekend, James shared a side-eye or two to songs found aboard the updated version of ‘143’ – namely the track ‘OK.’
“This can’t be the same person who eliminated me on ‘American Idol’ 5 years ago,” the singer-songwriter captioned the clip while grimacing through the song as it played.
And while some commenters agreed with his assessment, some KatyCats pounced into the comments of Steven’s clip to defend their fave and ignite a debate that helped the video garner millions of views in just a few days.
As of time of this report, however, Katy herself has not responded to the hoopla.

A nobody 5 years in coz of Katheryn? Her contestant-pleasing ways were painful to watch on that show. No one since Underwood has made it big off of US Idol. If he has anyone to blame, it should be his tattooist (and I don’t mean his neck!) Girls, aren’t y’all glad guys nowadays come wearing their warnings? Praise Him. 🙏
Who is Ms Steven? Who is she?
