Tyla brought the South African heat to the Billboard Music Awards 2024.
The stage blazer ignited the BBMAs with a fiery showing of her latest single ‘Push 2 Start’ and dancefloor anthem ‘Shake Ah.’
Both cuts are lifted from ‘Tyla+’ – the deluxe edition of her self-titled album debut.
The offering comes on the same night the 22-year-old took home the awards for Top Afrobeats Artist and Top Afrobeats Song.

It’s incredible how she had eclipsed artists such as Chloe & Normani in star power.
She is about equal to Chloe in star power (at this point) but definitely eclipsed Normani. That aside, she doesn’t dance like she used to. This was a cute performance although I wish SHE gave more – especially during “Shake Ah”. matching the energy of the dancers would be nice to see.
Tyla became what Chloe was supposed to be. Acclaimed debut album, A big hit, an actual billboard top 10 hit, An undeniable global star, A grammy winner, not to mention the many awards she got just of a debut album. Tyla has booked more stages, has more endorsements & presence, has generally created more interest! Chloe can still catch up though.
