The Weeknd kicked off 2024 making streaming history and is ending it doing the same.
Taking to Santa Monica’s Barker Hangar on Tuesday evening (December 17), the Canadian hitmaker (born Abel Tesfaye) celebrated being the artist with the most songs to pass 1 billion spins on Spotify by teaming with the streamer for the first-ever ‘Billions Club Live’ concert.
Over a 70-minute set Tesfaye cranked out live renditions of his biggest hits including ‘Starboy,’ ‘Call Out My Name,’ ‘Die for You,’ ‘Blinding Lights,’ ‘Save Your Tears,’ and many more.
As if that wasn’t enough to send his dedicated fans into a frenzy, he also confirmed he has a slew of new projects loading for next year.
“2024 is almost done. But 2025, we got some new s–t coming out. New album, new tour, new movie. New everything,” he said in reference to his upcoming LP ‘Hurry Up Tomorrow‘ and movie of the same name.
