‘In Ha Mood’ hitmaker Ice Spice is in an apologetic mood after her controversial appearance at an Australian festival last week sparked outrage among her fans.
As reported, the GRAMMY-nominated femcee nabbed headlines after enraged attendees took to social media to slam her for showing up 30 minutes late to a New Year’s Eve festival in Brisbane only to perform for five minutes.
After cranking out hits ‘Deli’ and ‘Princess Diana,’ Spice’s mic was cut – a response that was addressed by the fest’s reps.
“We understand that Ice Spice’s delayed arrival caused some disappointment,” the festival stated. “Managing a stacked festival means that we have to be extremely firm with set times. We had a strict curfew of 12:30 and need to ensure that the final act went on stage on time, so everyone could enjoy the New Year’s Eve countdown.”
And while Ice didn’t issue a formal statement on the matter, she did address it on Saturday (January 4) when she performed at the Perth leg of the same festival.
“I’m sorry guys, surely y’all can forgive me,” she said before launching into a live performance of ‘Barbie World.’ “It was my birthday and it takes a long time to look like a Barbie.”
