Normani may have recently indicated that her official debut era (‘Dopamine‘) is far from over, but that doesn’t mean the superstar singer doesn’t already have her eye on what’s next.
Before stunning her dedicated fans with some jaw-dropping quotes about the LP in the latest edition of ‘Galore,’ the former Fifth Harmony hitmaker sent them into a frenzy with news a “whole new album” is in the works for this year.
And while she’s not given much more detail than that, she’s certainly revealed a high-profile guest wishlist for the loading project.
After activating #Tygers – the fan base of rising South African songstress Tyla – with reports of eyeing a collaboration, Normani (born Normani Hamilton) has members of Janet Jackson‘s stan group (the #JanFam) chatting after revealing she wouldn’t mind doing an entire album with the Pop royal.
“I feel like our tones would complement each other’s very well,” she told ‘Galore’ after being quizzed who is at the top of her duet wishlist. “I would love to do something sexy with Janet. Honestly, we could do a whole album! She’s so multifaceted I can’t even tell you specifically what that one song would be, because I feel like between the two of us, we could do so much.”
Hamilton has long praised Jackson as one of her idols and even made headlines when she took to the BMI Awards in 2018 to perform a tribute to the megastar by performing her 1986 hit ‘Pleasure Principle.’
