Moments ago, the ‘Crazy’ singer shared a controversial snap of himself rocking a confederate flag hoodie.
Historically, the flag has been used as a symbolic celebration of White supremacy.
Indeed, for decades it has been drawn on by the likes of the Ku Klux Klan and more to promote concepts such as segregation and racism.
Clearly leaning in to the controversy, Green simply used the caption: “#soul #rebel.”
Unimpressed, users on Instagram left comments such as “do anything for clout” and “what’s wrong with you?”
Sigh.

First and foremost Black peoples need to look up Black Confederate Soldiers we have a proud confederate history the what we call white Klan used as a symbol of Hate remember the South lost and will always lose because of this simple fact we are not under confederacy rule

Just because white supremacists claim it doesn’t mean it can only be claimed by them.
So what do the others like CeeLo Green say about it?
They made it for the Confederates. It was made by them for them. It was the Confederate Army’s battle flag that became it’s national flag. It represents the 13 Confederate States that lost the battle.
And dumbasses, like most followers don’t know that the Confederate flag was our (aboriginal/indigenous peoples) flag symbolizing true freedom opposed what it ultimately has become. Just as our culture was stolen, so was our symbols, etc. Those stars represented the unified tribes for those who are ignorant to the undocumented facts.
He wore this and offered no context so it’s not unreasonable to believe that he’s trolling. Additionally, Ceelo is an entertainer not a historian. No one is looking for him to educate them on American history.
