Amid a sea of sexual assault lawsuits and criminal accusations, Sean “Diddy” Combs has been dealt another shocking blow as one of the lawyers leading the charge in his defense filed a motion to withdraw from the legal team.
Attorney Anthony Ricco – a member of Combs’ defense team – wants out of trying to help the embattled rapper-producer-mogul overcome his current legal woes.
“…under no circumstances can I continue to effectively serve as counsel for Sean Combs,” Ricco relayed according to an affidavit. “This motion for withdrawal of counsel, if granted, will not result in a delay of the present schedule for the commencement of jury selection and trial, or the present schedules for briefing of pretrial legal issues. As a result, there will be no lapse in representation, as Sean Combs will continue to be represented by five other attorneys of record.”
A judge has yet to grant the motion to officially remove Anthony from the case.
The shocking exit request comes as Diddy sits behind bars awaiting a May 5 trial on federal charges of sex trafficking, racketeering, and transportation to engage in prostitution.
