Ledisi Drops New Song ‘BLKWMN’ & Announces ‘Love You Too Tour’ with Marsha Ambrosius

Ledisi is celebrating Black History Month by releasing the Black woman anthem we didn’t know we needed.

Aptly titled ‘BLK WMN,’ the new song comes as the follow-up to ‘Love You Too‘ and serves as yet another taste of music set to line her forthcoming album ‘The Crown‘ due later this year.

“Black hue / Born from a golden hour / Black love / The tie that grew the flower / Mood changes, the world shapes the child that grew into a woman / Sunlight strong / Sacrifices she made / Moving in silence / Barely a thank you for all she gave,” she sings on the touching cut.

Teased earlier this month courtesy of a Tyler Perry-directed visualizer that featured black-and-white images of Black female icons like Coretta Scott King,  Serena Williams, Michelle Obama, Maya Angelou, Grace Jones, and more, the song can now be heard in full.

Fans of ‘Love You Too’ and ‘BLK WMN’ will get to see them performed live on Leddy’s forthcoming ‘Love You Too: the Tour.’

Tapping 10x GRAMMY nominee Marsha Ambrosius as well as Rahsaan Patterson and Kindred The Family Soul to act as her special guests, the North American jaunt will begin in Baltimore on May 28 before visiting major continental markets like Chicago, Milwaukee, Memphis, Charlotte, Toronto, Memphis, and others.
