In celebration of the 30th anniversary of ‘The Lion King,’ Disney toasted the music of the classic animated film via a live-to-film concert – ‘The Lion King at the Hollywood Bowl.’
Transforming the iconic Los Angeles venue into the “Pride Lands,” the state-of-the-art experience brought the soundtrack and film to life via larger-than-life costumes, skillful dancers, and a 70-person orchestra.
Beyond performances by Broadway stars and even cast members of the original film (Nathan Lane, Jason Weaver), stars like North West (daughter of Kanye West and Kim Kardashian), Heather Headley, and EGOT-winning diva Jennifer Hudson brought the house down with their respective selections.
The standout undoubtedly came from the latter who dropped jaws with her stirring rendition of ‘Circle of Life’ – 20 years after doing the same on ‘American Idol.’

Filmed in May 2024, the full concert experience is finally available for streaming on Disney+ as of Friday (February 7).

Lmao 🤣
This was just as terrible as I was expecting it to be.
Only the final 30 seconds was even decent.
… if LOUD & WRONG was a person.
North west did not bring the house down! Her inclusion was hideous and wrong and the kid can’t sing! Let’s start there and has zero stage presence.
This is what happens when a) Disney+ streams The Kardashians and B) you have a whole lotta money and power (looking at you Kimmy!)
They should have had JD McCrary and Shahadi Wright Joseph reprise the roles from the live action film as Simba and Nala! Cause JD can … SANG!
