Lady Gaga is lighting up the promotional trail in support of her new album ‘Mayhem’ ahead of its arrival on March 7.
And an intimate sit-down on Apple Music was her latest stop.
Chatting it up with Zane Lowe, Mother Monster waxed candid about the path to piecing together the LP – which she says is sonic “chaos” in the best and most organic way.
Beyond dishing on the ‘Disease’ and ‘Abracadabra’-led album, Gaga opened up about her engagement to Michael Polansky, trans rights, and the defiance of her 2013 project ‘ARTPOP.’
Full story below…
On The Angst ‘Mayhem’ Track ‘Perfect Celebrity’ Captures:
“Any time I’m in the room with anyone, there’s me, Stefani and Lady Gaga asleep on the ceiling, and I have to figure out which body to be in.”
On ARTPOP:
“It was very disruptive. It was not easy listening. It was me saying, ‘I’ll do what I want, I’ll do it my way.’ What’s so interesting is I always did that, but that record to viewers was so defiant.”
On Engagement:
“Michael asked me how I’d want him to propose one day, and I said just take a blade of grass and wrap it around my finger.”
On Trans Rights:
“What trans people are being faced with in this world is completely unfair, wrong and there’s this like violence that’s taking place on a daily basis in their lives and I think that we all need to support trans people and each other to know that they deserve to be supported and loved and protected and lifted up.”

We’re all sorts of ready for ‘Mayhem.’ Are you?
