From Taylor Swift to MAGA: Kanye West Explains Why the Super Bowl Halftime Gig Won’t Happen

Published: Tuesday 8th Apr 2025 by Malik Davis

Kanye West has shared reasons why he believes he hasn’t been offered the Super Bowl Halftime Show gig. Though he deleted the tweet, a screenshot captured his thoughts.

Full story below…

The Super Bowl has hosted stars like Lady Gaga, Beyoncé, and, most recently, Kendrick Lamar.

Now, West lists why he likely won’t be asked to perform.

Ye’s list includes some of his most controversial moments: the “George Bush doesn’t care about Black people” remark, the 2009 VMAs incident where he interrupted Taylor Swift to support Beyoncé, and his public embrace of the MAGA hat.

Another reason West mentions is his strained relationship with Jay-Z.

Recently, the polarizer stirred the pot further by discussing Jay and Beyoncé’s children in one of his Twitter rants, making any chance of reconciliation even more unlikely.

Given Ye’s recent actions and persona, a Super Bowl Halftime performance seems distant, if not impossible. With the ongoing drama, it’s hard to imagine him taking that iconic stage anytime soon.
