If there are two artists Lizzo will never shy from stanning for they’re Janet Jackson and Beyonce.
Just days after reigniting a slew of disses from Madonna fans for crowning the former the true Queen of Pop and asserting Britney Spears‘ career is nothing but a “Janet impression,” Liz (born Melissa Jefferson) has stan Twitter (currently known as X) buzzing with her take on the greatest recordings of all time.
It should be no surprise she crowned a fave from her fave with the title.

Hot on a whirlwind press tour in celebration of the release of her latest two singles ‘Still Bad‘ and ‘Love in Real Life,’ Jefferson dropped by ‘The Terrell Show‘ to talk about her career happenings, give a cappella renditions of ‘Bad’ and ‘Life,’ and even take time to reassert her #Beyhive allegiance.
When not cranking out ‘Crazy in Love’ and ‘Heaven,’ the GRAMMY winner sang ‘Single Ladies’ and reminisced on attending Bey’s 2023 ‘Renaissance Tour‘ three times.
Her praise of ‘Ladies’ echoes a sentiment expressed during her visit to the ‘Sibling Rivalry‘ podcast earlier where she crowned the 2008 tune the greatest female Pop song ever recorded.
“That song is impossible to write. I don’t know how it was written, I don’t know how it was sung. She’s belting over gidgets and gadgets,” she exclaimed. “She’s the queen of singing over sh-t that she shouldn’t be singing over. And then the harmonies are atonal and the beat doesn’t have a pitch center.”
As for the greatest song by a man? Liz pointed to 2003’s ‘Hey Ya‘ by OutKast.
That’s not all she said. Click here to see the full ‘Rivalry’ interview.

I have a new found respect for Lizzo,
Its the very first time i ever seen someone give Single Ladies the true respect it deserves.
That beat is the most innovative beats in music History, never heard anything like it b4 or after… outside of SWITCH by will smith (particially) and moving on up (partially) with the CLAPS but the CORE beat however is one of a kind.
That song is awful and never needs to be played again
one of the noisiest songs ever. hated it then and still can’t get through it. the bridge was cool but like all of her songs, it sucked.
Dangerously in love is the greatest song in music History.
Nope
Most of Beyonce songs are so unlistenable, very noisy with awful vocals. I hate Single ladies, especially the music video is ripped off Bob Fosses’ Mexican breakfast.
And this explains why her music is Meghan Trainor in AAVE because how is Beyoncé’s worst, most generic, most soulless, cheesiest, made for middle aged white women to get their half step on at a middle class wedding single better than any female release? This after she called Britney a Janet tribute act like Lizzo herself isn’t out here cosplaying Mammy Two Shoes from Tom & Jerry for a living… Be serious.
She clearly has zero taste in music if she thinks that an alarm clock is the best female song ever. keep licking that s watermelon don’t stop till Beyonce get her wish for a white s hole 🕳️.
So it’s greater than any Whitney, Mariah, Celine, Aretha, Lauren Hill’s song? The delusion is real
Lizzo’s music is so uninteresting that she always has to mention other artists in her interviews. I’m embarrassed for her.
Another Beyonce ass kisser
Her music is horrible so I don’t take her opinion seriously
