As Katy Perry fans (affectionately called #KatyCats) continue baring their claws against her fellow Pop diva Kesha for a perceived diss, they’ve found an ally in the unlikeliest of people: Azealia Banks.
Where’s the beef? Ask Wendy’s.
The fast food chain has been under fire since Perry returned to Earth after being one of six passengers on Blue Origin’s all-women flight crew to space earlier this week (photographed above).
After she and the rest of the ladies (a sextet that included Lauren Sanchez, Gayle King, and more) safely returned to Earth, a rep for the burger brand’s official account left a comment asking, “Can we send her back?”
While it’s unclear why Wendy’s might have beef with the ‘Firework‘ singer, their stance seemed to have found great support in Kesha as she took to social media on Monday night (April 14) to subtly co-sign their suggestion.
The shade wasn’t missed by Katy fans – many of whom swarmed the ‘Tik Tok‘ singer’s page with insults. Surprisingly joining the chorus was Banks.
“Kesha can’t be shading Katy while she still performing the music she made with Dr. Luke,” Azealia relayed on X (formerly known as Twitter). “Like if you’re that traumatized you wouldn’t be performing ‘Tik Tok’ every f-cking time you step on stage. Plenty of people to write her brand spankin new corny, White girl raps, so I’m not buying it. Kesha is mad stupid and corny.”
Ouch!
As Banks alluded to her in insulting tweet, Kesha and Katy’s history stems from their respective link of producer extraordinaire Dr. Luke – the mastermind behind some of their biggest hits.
Kesha infamously alleged the Kemosabe Records founder drugged and sexually assaulted her, inciting a 9-year legal battle that ultimately ended in private settlement in 2023. Before the settlement, however, Kesha also alleged he sexually assaulted Perry (which the ‘Roar‘ hitmaker later denied).
To add, Katy controversially reunited with Luke for her serially panned ‘143‘ album last year.
At writing, Perry has not responded to Banks or Kesha.
Trasha is salty coz she didn’t won the lawsuit. Dr. Luke is innocent and she has no rights to avoid other artists working with him.
