As reported, Mimi, who has been eligible for induction for a decade, was nominated once again this year.
However, when the official Class of 2025 was unveiled today, the superstar was noticeably absent from the final shortlist.
Others who are set to be inducted include Outkast, Cyndi Lauper, The White Stripes, and Salt-N-Pepa.
In the case of Andre 3000 and Big Boi, their group scored an induction on their first nomination.
While fan voting is taken into consideration, a panel ultimately decides who makes the cut. And this year, once again, Carey was not in that number.

When it started in the 1980s, it was mainly focused on traditional rock musicians like Elvis Presley, Chuck Berry, and The Beatles. But over the years, it expanded to include artists from many genres that influenced or were influenced by rock and roll — like soul, R&B, hip-hop, pop, folk, and even country.
That’s why you’ll see people like:

Johnny Cash (country)
Tupac Shakur (hip-hop)
Madonna (pop)
Jay-Z (hip-hop)
all inducted alongside rock bands.

Mariah Carey is known for her excellent and long standing songwriting skills. She’s been a songwriter since she began her career.
I had respect when they inducted Prince the first year he was eligible. A certified GENIUS of the ages and superior all-around-artist in the highest form!
