Catching co-hosts Angela Yee and Jasmine off guard, the performer offered up a surprising response when it was suggested her relationship status was “locked in.”
She revealed:
“Not now. I’m going through a divorce, but we’ve been separated since 2023.”
Amerie and Lenny (who served as her manager for a period of time) were together for 19 years in total. The pair, who share a 7-year-old son named River Rowe together, tied the knot on June 25, 2011.

Ahhhh so he was the reason she was held back. I take back what I said about her reading chapters from her book. Amerie’s Tiny Desk is like a B+ because she knows her vocal range and she’s not lost her tone. The band / back up singers helped massively.
Now it is perfect time for her to tour Europe. Fans overseas are dying to see her. Me and my friends will deffo go to one or more of her shows if she comes across the lake!
