One day before closing arguments in the sex trafficking and racketeering trial, it has been confirmed that prosecutors will no longer argue theories of attempted kidnapping, attempted arson, and aiding and abetting sex trafficking.

It means that the jury is now barred from factoring in the theories that Diddy set fire to the car of rapper Kid Cudi (who testified earlier in the case) or that he kidnapped anyone.
The claims are tied to the sex trafficking and racketeering charges, two of the three federal charges Diddy is up against.
As of writing, the third charge of transportation to engage in prostitution remains unaffected.
While the move has ignited much chatter, prosecutors maintain that it was actioned simply to “streamline” what the jury will be tasked with reviewing.
Central to the prosecution’s case is the argument that Diddy was both shielded and assisted by his vast staff to commit and cover up crimes. These include sex trafficking, prostitution, bribery, drug use, and physical abuse. With the latest move, kidnapping and arson have been shaved off the list.

I wish people would stop saying the prosecution dropped charges. Diddy was never actually charged with kidnapping or arson, those were previously theories of guilt the jury could consider in finding him guilty (or not guilty) of RICO. The RICO charges (and the others) still stand. The prosecution just simplified the case by reducing the number of possible predicate RICO theories for the jury to consider, they can still consider bribery and other predicates. I wish they prosecution would not have overreached on the predicates in the first place. They are causing confusion by reducing the possible theories after introducing evidence on the ones that no longer apply.

the prosecutors dropped the key testimony of s** trafficking, kidnapping, arson and aiding and betting prostitutes so some charges were dropped like they said. he wont spend life in jail.
